About Mirissa

Mirissa's crescent of sand, backed by coconut palms, is one of the south coast's most popular beaches.

From November to April, boats leave the harbour early each morning to look for blue whales, sperm whales and spinner dolphins in the deep waters offshore.

Nearby Weligama offers gentle waves for surf beginners, and Coconut Tree Hill makes a memorable sunset viewpoint.
